ARMENIAN FOR NON-ARMENIAN SPEAKERS: TEACHING, TESTING, AND ASSESSING THE ARMENIAN LANGUAGE

“The Armenian for Non-Armenian Speakers” project is a system designed for learning, testing, and assessing Armenian language proficiency for non-Armenian speakers. The system is based on the latest update of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages․ Six levels of learning, evaluating, and assessing Armenian proficiency (Ա1 (A1), Ա2 (A2), Բ1 (B1), Բ2 (B2), Գ1 (C1), Գ2 (C2)) planned to be created.

The project includes the creation of a system for checking and assessing Armenian language proficiency as well as the development of mechanisms for its implementation. The system will provide an opportunity to conduct examinations assessing language proficiency through state and non-state licensed organizations teaching Armenian both within the territory of the Republic of Armenia and abroad, and will therefore issue a certificate validated by the unified language proficiency standards.

The program is implemented by the 31-Լ, 26.03.2024 order of RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
